Lee Kun-hee was born in 1942 in South Korea and is a renowned Korean entrepreneur.

He is best known as the Chairman of Samsung since 1987, transforming it into a global powerhouse.

After attending Korea University and Waseda University, Lee joined Samsung in 1968, becoming the company's chairman in 1987.

He is credited with transforming Samsung from a small trading company into a global electronics giant.

He has also served as Chairman of the Federation of Korean Industries (FKI) and Fair Trade Commission (FTC).

In 1996, he was awarded the Order of Civil Merit of the Grand Cordon of the Rising Sun by the Japanese government.

He was also awarded the Global Leader of Tomorrow Award by the World Economic Forum in 1997.
