Ryuji Kohno is a Japanese entrepreneur born in 1956.

He is best known as the founder of Hikari Tsushin, a major Japanese electronics retail chain.

He began his career in 1981, working in the computer retail industry.

After two years in the industry, he founded Hikari Tsushin in 1983.

The company grew rapidly and became one of the largest mobile phone retailers in Japan.

In 2004, he sold the company to SoftBank for over $15 billion.

Following the sale of Hikari Tsushin, he started a new company, Kohno & Co.
