Discover National Parks, Jasmund National Park - Germany (1990)
Jasmund National Park is located on the Jasmund peninsula of Germany's Rugen Island in the Baltic Sea.
The park is well known for its stunning white chalk cliffs, which reach up to 161 meters in height.
The park also houses a number of ancient beech forests and diverse wildlife, including deer, foxes, and sea eagles.
It is also home to the Königsstuhl, a spectacular chalk cliff formation that offers stunning views of the sea.
The park is open all year round, however, the best time to visit is during the spring and summer months when the wildflowers are in bloom and the temperatures are mild.
In 1990, Jasmund National Park was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is now one of the most popular tourist destinations in Germany.
The park provides a variety of activities including hiking, horse riding, and cycling, as well as boat tours of the chalk cliffs.
